A New Year's Resolution

Okay, its 2008 and I have made a resolution to try and take control of my finances. First off, I'm going to balance my checkbook and then I'm going to actually try to make up a budget. I have a book that says we should pay ourselves first and then have a certain amount allocated for savings or investments and then the rest is to pay bills and live on. So, for myself I think I need about $200 a month. I'm not a big spender and fun to me is $50 a week at the casino. As far as investments, I think I am going to look at maybe doing a little investing..you know in something small. I'm a bit gunshy because of past experiences, but I do think I'll give it one more shot.

Sounds like a good plan to me! I need to do the same. Seems like there's never enough leftover for investments, though. Maybe if I put my whole family on an allowance, and really stick to the budget this year. That's SOOOO hard to do.
