I'm sick of politics

Oh lord, its another election year coming up! Where does the time go? I hate politics because there is nothing good about it for regular people. It seems like a game show to me.
I want to be a good citizen and vote and support these people but every year it has become increasingly more difficult. I think I'm going to sign up for netflix or something just so I don't have to watch everyone air dirty laundry about everyone else.
Worse, is that it is not just at the presidential race level! Every day you read about local politicians involved in unethical things. For years after Hurricane Katrina we had scandals and they continue to today. I logged into my yahoo and the first thing I see is something about some politician being represented by raleigh attorneys . Isn't there anyone who could run and win some political seat that doesn't have a ton of skeletons in their closet?
