Most Annoying Pest in the World...well...at least the South
September 11th 2008 00:17
Do you know what it is? It's a lovebug. I'm not sure if they only live in the south or if northerners experience them as well. They come here twice. Once at the beginning of summer and then again in Sept/Oct. They do not bite but they are everywhere.
Even though they are harmless they are disgusting. It is my understanding their only function in life is to mate, give birth, then die. I'm guessing they are very important in the food chain.
I was fanning them off of me while I tried to smoke a cigarette and two of them (stuck together) landed on my arm...I tossed them off and they landed on a nearby chair...and a third one joined them for an apparent ménage et toi. At this point my husband came out and sat down before I could say anything. Thank goodness he was dressed or it could have been a menage et quatre.
Okay, that was lame.
