No Frills flying...is it right for you?

We just had our first experience with Skybus, a new airline that offers great fairs to an ever-growing group of cities and my review is mixed. While the flight and the plane were wonderful per my elderly mom and aunt, their non-existant communication is something they need to look at. My relatives packed their medications in their suitcases because they were thinking that their luggage would surely be safe on a direct flight. Well, that was a huge mistake. When they arrived, their luggage did not as well as five other passengers. We got them to the counter and they completed a lost baggage claim, however they have received no word or updates. They do have a place online to "track" but all it really is...is a place to verify your name, address and baggage claim number. We are in a panic and there is NO WAY to find out anything. We even went back to the airport today to the counter and was told they have no one they can call! While there an employee from another airline came over because my mom was very upset and crying...and this person told us that in the one month Skybus has been in that terminal, seeing people frustrated and crying has been a daily occurrance. I understand no frills, but this is ridiculous. I can tell you I'm not impressed. My best advise if you need to get that low fair, is to simply travel with a carry on.
Oh yes, the no-frills concept carries straight through to the luggage in that unlike other airlines who will give you a couple of bucks to get you a shirt and a pair of pants, Skybus takes no responsibility even with literally a thousand dollars worth of medication. So, be sure to buy the travel insurance they offer.
