We're doing it

May 4th 2012 17:25
A friend of mine who lives in Texas and myself have talked for years about getting a lapband. Well, I am finally in a situation where insurace will cover most of it, so I decided to go for it. I called my friend and told her about what I was doing and she jumped right on the bandwagon. Right now as I type this she is doing lab testing in San Antonio TX. She doesn't have a surgery date yet, but mine is in two weeks on May 17. I am so excited and nervous. But I keep thinking about the two of going back in time to when we were both fairly small and felt good. I'm going there again (God willing). I'll keep you guys posted on how it goes.

I hate being the gopher

April 24th 2012 00:05
Whenever my husband has a project, I am always the gopher. It drives me crazy but I don't feel like I can say anything because he is always working hard. Last week he was doing a painting project which meant two trips to home depot and cleaning paint pans and brushes. This week I have no idea what he is doing. All I know is he called and said get online and google duracell procell aaa batteries. I have no idea what he needs them for, but I guess I'll get on it.

Hiking is his new thing

April 19th 2012 17:48
Every now and then my husband decides he's going to do certain things. Hobbies of sorts. He is now into hiking. This is actually cool because I know it's good exercise but the funny part is that when he starts something he has to have all the equipment and such that goes with it. Today he was saying that he wants a pair of Vasque Boots. I guess I'll order them online.

Music has come a long way

April 19th 2012 17:41
Wow, I was having lunch with a good friend of mine the other day and she was talking about how she was doing some recording. Music recording. Anyway, she has some random equipment but said that what she really needs and what would enhance what she is doing is some Antares Software . I had no clue but her birthday is coming up so I went online to check it out. The music world is really changing since computers have come along. I think I'll bookmark this and maybe get her something.

Metal Coat Racks

April 19th 2012 17:35
I know I live in Mississippi and it is basically a hot place, but I have to tell you that in the winter, it can get downright cold. Because of the normal temperatures they just don't put coat closets in houses. It is so annoying. I guess I am going to go look at some metal coat racks for next winter. I want something that is very balanced and attractive.

GPS is not what I need

April 19th 2012 17:33
My youngest son is a bigtime biker. He owns about seven of them I think with his baby being his Goldwing. Well, every year him and his buddies map out a two week trip. Last year they did the entire coast of Florida, this year it's the Grand Canyon, then Vegas where he and his girfriend are getting married. He always emails me some link to his gps tracking. I hate it. I worry enough without watching his movement across the country. I sure wish he'd lose interest in bikes.

Okay the following is a review I did after doing this program for 3 1/2 weeks. Don't laugh at my singing please (or my strangely out of control fingers), but I am so excited that I really do want to share it with you.

Today I want to tell you about a program I found on the internet, but first a little back story. I have always wanted to learn how to play the piano. When I was young like maybe 8 my mom signed me up for lessons. Well, it lasted all of four weeks because I got so bored

Ecomatic salt cell

April 11th 2012 18:14
I was sitting out back in my sunroom when my doorbell rang. It was my neighbor that I really don't know. I always wave when I see him backing out of his garage but other than that, I have no clue. He looked distraught so I asked what was wrong. He shook his head and said oh nothing is wrong but I have a question.

Okay? What's an ecomatic salt cell

My piano lessons are going great!

March 30th 2012 18:11
I'm not kidding! I found an online program and asked the guy if I could try his lessons in exchange for a review and he said yes! I am so excited you can't imagine. THis is a totally different way to learn and it actually works for me. He is definitely going to be happy with my review. I'm almost to the end of the first section and I can almost play Let it Be all the way through!

I'll let you guys know how it goes once I get through it. I have been taping myself as I do the lessons so that at the end I can show everyone just how good it is.

gifts, gifts, gifts

March 30th 2012 18:06
I feel like I am always buying gifts. I don't remember it being this way when I was young, but since I am old, all my siblings have kids and their kids have kids which makes for a huge gift list.

Anyway, my favorite nephew is going on the road with a band and while everyone else is telling him to get a real job, I am excited for him. He plays the sax and I think I am going to look at Protec Bags! They have what they call a gig bag and I think he would really love it and get a lot of use out of it.

Mother's Rings

March 30th 2012 18:02
I know it is early but I've been thinking about what to get my mother for Mother's Day. She's 77 and that makes it kind of hard to know what to buy. I could get her some clothes but she really has kept up with her wardrobe. I bought a her a laptop for Christmas so....I'm running out of ideas.

I was looking at mother's rings the other day and thought that might be a nice thing? Maybe? She is coming to visit in three weeks so I think I will feel her out then.

You can buy one???

March 16th 2012 15:36
Wow, I had no idea you could buy an airbrush makeup machine for use at home. I know we always talk about models and the airbrushed look, but I never gave it much thought. I am dying to know if this method of makeup would really make a difference in the way someone looks or not. I am so, so tempted to buy one. I know my husband will not like the idea, but I don't think I can put it out of mind until I try it. Have any of you used one of these machines? If so, what are your thoughts about it?

Gold

March 16th 2012 15:31
Years ago, my husband and I thought about buying gold ingots, but we didn't. I think we bought a VCR and Video camera instead. Looking at the prices today, we are sorry we didn't stick to our plan. If and when the prices finally go down, I think we are going to start buying a coin a month (if we can afford it) and just put them in the safe deposit box for our kids or grandkids. I think I will buy gold online because all of the major gold sellers will do it that way, plus it would just be more convenient. So, I am probably the only person in the world wishing for the price to drop. Oh well.

Wooden gazebo

February 18th 2012 21:08
Spring is coming and I am lining up the things I want to do before summer. First off I need to get my house power washed. Last year in August, the city decided to use the driving range across the street as their storage area for dirt from another project. My house is filthy. Second I'm thinking I'd like to get a wooden gazebo for my back yard. I have my sunroom now but I would really like something attractive out back. I'm not sure how expensive this will be but I'm checking into it.
